About me

I am a freelance interpreter living in Manchester. I qualified in 1999 and have worked within many different domains over the years, although I now primarily work within mental health and community settings.

I believe that a trusting relationship is at the heart of supervision and my aim is to create a warm, honest, non-judgmental space where you feel valued and supported while you make sense of feelings and experiences that arise in your work. We are often our worst critics and supervision is not only an opportunity to reflect on any changes you would like to make, but also celebrate your successes as a great deal of learning can be taken from each. I tailor each supervision session to the specific issues supervisees want to bring. For example, one session you may have a specific dilemma to discuss, another where you have been left with an uncomfortable feeling that you can’t quite put your finger on. In addition, relationships at work can be difficult to navigate, such as a co-working experience that didn’t go as well as you had hoped, or you may be wondering how to maintain boundaries when working with regular clients.

I credit supervision with making me a more resilient, compassionate and confident interpreter and my passion for supervision led me to train as a professional supervisor in 2009. I trained alongside therapists and continue to access training within the therapeutic community to enable me to develop the skills and knowledge to support supervisees in the best way I can. I co-created the 360 Diploma in supervision in 2014 to train interpreters to become supervisors and my time is now divided between interpreting, supervision and supporting the running of the 360 Diploma in Supervision.

If you are interested in finding out more, the first step is to contact me to arrange an initial 20 minute session, free of charge, to see if I am the right supervisor for you. We can discuss what you would like from supervision, what I can offer and how we might work together in a way that is of most benefit to you.
